A native of Virginia, Heather moved to Florida to pursue her music studies at FSU, and fell in love with Tampa during her student teaching! She is quite an accomplished teacher, both in formal classroom settings and private one-on-one lessons. Heather also enjoys teaching violin, viola, guitar, ukulele, and piano, and has experience as a youth choir director.
Heather received her Bachelor’s in Music education, focusing on cello, from Florida State University. Along with her degree, she also achieved certification in the fields of pedagogy and orff education!
During her time at FSU, Heather performed with a student string quartet. They worked on the standard Hadyn arrangements, as well as works by American composers, and modern/experimental pieces. They also played some brand new commissioned works and collaborated directly with up and coming composers! In addition, Heather was a member of both the Upper and Lower Undergrad Symphonies. Since moving to Tampa, she has enjoyed playing for local weddings and church services.
Heather loves to see the excitement and spark in a student who falls in love with music for the first time. She especially enjoys teaching kids who may be more on the sporty side, and showing them how fun music can be!
