Tyler is from Crystal River Florida and recently graduated from the University of South Florida. He has a history of involvement in teaching in many capacities, from music to substitute teaching in the public school system and private tutoring.
Early in his childhood Tyler realized his primary passions were drums and piano, and spent his entire life improving his musical skills. He proceeded to join various bands throughout middle school and high school, performing in festivals across Florida. His first job was teaching music, and he has actively continued this path for the past seven years.
Today, Tyler plays drums in the metalcore outfit Chasing Airplanes through which he creates and performs original music. Coming out of their first EP release, Gnosis, Chasing Airplanes have been making noise in Tampa Bay’s heavy music scene.
After becoming a recent graduate of the University of South Florida’s Communication program, Tyler has become a state-certified teacher in hopes he may continue to find ways to apply his instructional skills.
Tyler enjoys sharing what he is the most passionate about, finding himself surprised about what his students can accomplish whether it be starting a band, winning music competitions, or creating drum covers on YouTube. When his students develop a love for playing music and a drive to continue improving, he feels he has accomplished his goal.
