Background: Jorge developed an interest in drumming at age 5 and began percussion training at age 13.
During Jorge’s sophomore year of high school, he joined Seminole High School’s marching band drum line. During this time, Jorge received a drum kit from his grandfather and musical influence, David Crosby and dedicated time to learning to play drum kit.
Growing up, Jorge was extremely fortunate to witness and meet great LA based drummers at many Crosby Stills and Nash concerts and quickly found appreciation for many genres of music and the dedication of professional players.

Started Music Career : Jorge has enjoyed the drums since he was 5, but didn’t begin training until 7th grade.

Education : After high school,  Jorge went on to study Jazz at the University of South Florida where he acquired a Bachelor of Arts  degree in Music Studies. At USF, Jorge was very fortunate to study under the mentorship of renowned LA drummer, Ric Craig.

Areas of Focus: Pop, Jazz, Rock, R&B, Bossa Nova, Samba and Afrocuban.

Favorite aspect of teaching: Witnessing hard work from students out of pure love for their instrument.

Performance: Jorge currently plays in Tampa Bay with the Amanda Keller Band and other projects associated with Amanda Keller and Bass player Jaymee Granell.  Within Amanda and Jaymee’s projects, Jorge has had had the opportunity to play with some of the best players in the Tampa music scene such as Alfred Sheppard and Kyle Pierce whom he openly credits as his motivation for daily improvement.
