With over five years of orchestral performance experience, Olivia Houpt is a dedicated violist passionate about sharing her knowledge with aspiring musicians. She has held principal and section leadership positions in the Blake High School Orchestra, the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, and the University of Tampa Symphony Orchestra. Her extensive background in orchestral performance, including soloist opportunities and collaborations with seasoned musicians (including The Florida Orchestra), allows her to offer guidance to students of all levels.
As an instructor, Olivia focuses on developing strong technical foundations, musical interpretation, and ensemble skills. Her leadership experience in All-County Orchestra and mentorship of younger musicians make her an engaging and patient educator, committed to fostering confidence and musical growth in her students. Whether preparing for auditions, improving technique, or exploring expressive musicianship, Olivia tailors her teaching to each student’s goals.
Olivia has performed in the Repertory Orchestra with the Straz Center’s Patel Conservatory, All-State and All-County orchestras, in Chamber ensembles at renowned venues such as Église de la Madeleine in Paris, L’Orangerie d’Yacoor in Switzerland, and Victoria Embankment Gardens in London, and as a principal player at Blake High School and the University of Tampa.
