Nate Bernard is a singer/songwriter from the greater Tampa Bay, Florida area, where he currently does music production and voiceovers. Nate’s music journey began in his hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts, when he was just 10 years old. He and his older brother attended a U2 concert for the first time, and that was the spark that lit the fire for his love and passion for music. Within a few months, he was taking his first guitar lessons from a semi-well-known singer and guitar player, Micheal Metelica, of the band Spirit in the flesh. His passion for singing also grew, and he was soon taking voice lessons and singing in his church choir. He was recommended by one of the church leaders to join the Pioneer Valley Music Society, where he started one of his other passions; teaching guitar and singing baritone in the choir ensemble for four years. While with PVMS, he and a colleague were selected to perform in a Christmas concert with the Boston Pops.
Nate attended UMass Amherst, where he received his degree in music and business management under his professor and music director, George Sulos. While attending UMass, he also played percussion and danced with the Universities African Tribe ensemble under the guise of Saku Sillus. After college, Nate went on teaching and performing with various Rock, Reggae, Jazz and Funk projects. Along the way, Nate has performed alongside some well-known acts, including the rock bands Stained, Puddle of Mud, and God Smack.
In 2004, Nate helped organize a charity concert, called "Warm the children", which helped raise $250,000.00 for local homeless kids around the holidays. In 2007, Nate started as an apprentice studio engineer in Fort Myers, Florida, where he got to do work with members of the band AC/DC, Bob Segar, and Donna Summers.
