The voice is a unique instrument because it is also part of your body. This means that a vocalist is in tune with their instrument in a unique way compared to other instrumentalists. However, you can’t replace your voice if it is damaged. You can’t buy a new model. You need to take care of your one and only instrument! Sometimes that requires singing less and listening more. Our Tampa voice lessons are a great way to learn correct vocal technique and practicing habits. But if you haven’t started lessons just yet, read our blog and watch our videos to get going!
Today we are talking about the value of listening, particularly as a vocalist. Listen to a variety of recordings of the piece you are working on. This is a great way to develop your own style and add some creativity to your performance. Plus, it’s a great way to support other vocalists by following their channels and playlists.
Listen to the accompaniment and find valuable cues or reference points. Then your entrances will be clearer to you. This will also allow you to learn your song from a different perspective. As such, you will learn your song in a more well-rounded manner, considering other factors besides your voice alone.
