Sabrina Colon

Sabrina Colon is a multi-instrumentalist with a primary focus on Clarinet. She was born in New York and grew up primarily in Ocala, Florida. She has been studying music since the age of Eleven starting in a small middle school band program. With the intent of furthering her music career, she joined a Performing Arts High School Band and Jazz program, Playing both Clarinet and Saxophone. She has received Superior ratings throughout high school in every ensemble at the district and state level. While in high school she was a section leader for two years and was constantly teaching and working with her peers. She also consistently placed in the top two spots in terms of playing ability in her school district for two years straight. Because of her outstanding achievements, her director nominated her for the Nancy A. Atkinson Music Grant. Originally the award money was to be split up between 3 students but she received the entire prize. Sabrina is currently studying under award-winning clarinetists at the University of South Florida and is currently majoring in Music Education. She is currently taking piano, Music theory, Aural skills, and choir classes to further enhance her music knowledge. Besides playing instruments, her interests include arts and crafts, singing, going for nature walks, thrifting, and spending quality time with friends and family.
