BSM at the Santa Fest Parade!

Happy Holidays!

Spread some holiday cheer with us! Join Barrett School of Music at the Santa Fest & Christmas Parade through Downtown Tampa. We are taking our students to sing their holiday favorites! Don't take voice lessons? That's ok! You can be a student of any instrument with us and still join in the fun. (Past and future students welcome!)

Health and Safety

All students, teachers and parents will be required to wear a mask during the staging time (before the parade). Once we are able to spread out and begin walking, BSM staff will ensure that all students maintain a 6’ distance from other students and any other parade group. Students and teachers will still be encouraged to wear masks throughout the event. Students and teachers will be required to return their masks to their faces as the parade route ends, as we may not be able to ensure social distancing from other groups. In order to maintain the safety of our group, this event will be capped based on the square footage the city gives our group during the parade and the number of siblings that register. We will not overpopulate this event.

Preparations

We will hold two 45-minute rehearsals leading up to the event. During these rehearsals, we will make sure that everyone knows the lyrics and is comfortable with melody line. That's it!

If your child would feel more comfortable with a private voice lesson ahead of time, we can set that up too.

The Big Day

The parade begins at the intersection of Pierce Street and Madison Street. The parade will head west from the starting point; then turn north on Ashley Drive, ending at Curtis Hixon Park. Did you know Santa will be waiting for us there?! Bring your whole family at make a day out of it.

On the day of the event, students are encouraged to dress up in their favorite holiday outfit or ugly sweater, all accessories are encouraged!

We will meet at our lineup position (to be determined at a later time by the city) at 10am Saturday morning to rehearse and organize.

The 1 mile walk should take us about 30-45 minutes once our group begins walking.

Cheer Section

All Barrett School of Music families can stand together along the parade route, at a place we will designate, cameras ready! And don't worry - our professional photographer will be walking with us, so you'll have great photos of your kids afterwards!
