Evan Eubanks is a drummer/percussionist and a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was raised in a musical household and started piano lessons at a young age. In middle school, Evan switched from piano to percussion lessons where he studied snare drum, mallets, and drum set with Kurt Grissom of The Florida Orchestra. Evan attended Pinellas County Center for the Arts (PCCA) at Gibbs High School where he studied with Jessica Ridgeway and focused on jazz with David Pate. He then started to play more on drum set outside of school, taking lessons with renowned drummer John Jenkins, joining the Ruth Eckerd Jazz Band, and gigging with jazz and rock groups.

Evan then continued his musical studies at Berklee College of Music. There, he took a variety of drum courses such as jazz studies, African drumming, Brazilian, funk, as well as ensembles, ear training and theory, arranging and studio techniques. Berklee brought great opportunities for Evan to work with revered drummers such as Jack DeJohnette, Terri Lyne Carrington, Ian Froman, Tony “Thunder” Smith, Billy Kilson, Kenwood Dennard, and the late Ralph Peterson.

After graduating from Berklee, Evan moved to New York City where he worked his way into the music scene. He joined several musical projects, playing countless shows at notable NYC venues, and touring. He was able to record with well known musicians and producers such as Godfrey Diamond and Sam Cohen, as well as share bills with some of New York’s finest.

Now back in St. Pete, Evan is excited to share his 15 years of professional experience with the next generation of drummers! His focus is on technique and musicality to help create a strong foundation for the student. Because of Evan’s background as a young musician who learned from some of the best in the area, he truly understands how a lesson can be fun and motivational and how to get excited about music!
