This Spring, the Barrett School of Music is spreading the love! We’re starting up a brand new musical opportunity – The Valentine’s Singers. Students from all musical backgrounds will be placed in quartet groups, carpooling to “love-gram” recipients in pre-selected neighborhoods throughout the Tampa Bay Area.

Who can participate?

This event is open to ALL musicians, not just singers. Our expert teachers will guide each quartet to make their most beautiful sound. This is not only a great moment for singers to work with other musicians, but also a fun opportunity for instrumentalists to experience the joy of singing with others!

What will we be singing?

Each quartet will learn 4 songs, adding their own unique touch to each. The “love-gram” sender can choose between “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by Elvis Presley, “Always be my Baby” by Mariah Carey, “All of Me” by John Legend, and “Lover” by Taylor Swift. We’ve purposefully chosen a broad range of artists and genres, so there’s something for everyone!

When is the event?

Valentine’s Singers will be required on 3 separate dates (2 rehearsals, 1 performance day) –

The first rehearsal will be on February 5th from 5pm to 6pm. The second rehearsal will be on February 12th from 5pm to 6pm. The meeting place for rehearsals will be chosen based on what location is most convenient for participating students in each quartet.

Singers will perform door-to-door in their assigned neighborhoods on February 13th, from 4pm to 6pm. Students will meet at a “base” location to finalize their road maps, and then make their rounds to each lucky recipient!

Where do I sign up?

Tickets to participate are $35 per singer, and can be purchased via Eventbrite. We also invite you to share the event on Facebook, and spread the word!
