Is your student already playing piano but most of their time is spent figuring out a melody in their head? Perhaps they have never learned the piano but play around for the sole purpose of trying out different sounds or chord combinations. Or maybe your child spends time on a device, trying out different instrumentation on Ableton, Garageband or one of the many other modern songwriting aides available today. Do you wish your child could create something valuable instead of brain rot on their device? Your student won’t want to miss Modern Songwriting, one of our South Tampa Summer Camps.
The Content In this piano course, students can expect to learn the perfect combination of piano basics and original song production. Additionally, we will be going over various structural topics, such as learning and mastering letter names, scales and chords. From there, students will learn different types of song arrangements as well as different formats to build and create your own song.
Furthermore, we will be learning and studying new songs. Also, we will also touch on some electronic music production with Ableton. Students do not need a device during camp in order to fully participate.
Our South Tampa Summer Camp Teacher Cameron Collins is pioneering our very first Modern Songwriting Camp! In addition to being a songwriter and pianist himself, Cameron has tailored coursework to balance fun and engagement for students with real word tools students can take with them and use, long after camp ends.
In a world where Ai is growing and developing, curious students will gain knowledge and experience to both inform their interests and carve out a baseline for the advancing and changing music production industry.
The Showcase In addition to class, we want to showcase our students’ work and artistry with a show for family and friends! Join us on Friday at 3:30pm to hear a bit from Cameron on the twists and turns your students explored throughout the week. Then sit back and listen to excerpts of the tunes and beats your students designed during our South Tamp Summer Camp – Modern Songwriting.

Camp Times: 9:00am – 4:00pm (All students must pack a lunch. Refrigeration and microwaving available upon request.)
