As we reach 10 years old in service, we are excited to announce we are now offering piano lessons in St Pete! We are an awarded music school with locations in Tampa, Miami, New York—and now, St Pete! We were awarded "Best of Florida" for three years in a row from 2025 to 2023, and awarded "Most Loved" in music lessons by Hula Frog in 2020 and 2019.
At Barrett, we focus on in-home, in-person music lessons where our teachers come to you. Along with piano lessons in St Pete, we also offer lessons for violin, viola, and guitar. All of our teachers are qualified with a college education in music and have a professional performance history. We look for a perfect balance of music academia and hands-on expertise for our music educators.

Laura Hollis started Barrett School of music in 2015. She wanted a music school with an emphasis on high-quality, in-home lessons where students are engaged, enjoying their lessons, and where the teaching approach is tailored and personalized for each student. Laura developed a musical philosophy that education should be balanced and flexible based on students' strengths and their musical preferences.
As of 2025, we at Barrett have 30 teachers and around 400 students across Tampa, New York, Miami, and St Pete. We host regular recitals, musical ensembles, musical camps, and look for other performance opportunities for our students—we look to make music alive for our students beyond the lesson. In St Pete, our goal is to create a dedicated and engaging musical community.
