Jedrick Itugot

Jedrick Itugot is currently immersed in his graduate studies at the University of South Florida, where he is fervently pursuing a Masters of Music in Instrumental Conducting. His musical odyssey began in the Philippines, where he graduated from the prestigious Conservatory of Music at the University of Santo Tomas, attaining a Bachelor's Degree in Music Major in Orchestral Conducting under the tutelage of Dr. Herminigildo Ranera.

Under the mentorship of renowned conductors such as Maestro Olivier Ochanine, former Music Director of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, and Maestro Gerard Salonga, former Music Director of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, Jedrick has honed his craft with dedication and passion. His journey to with his mentors has been marked by notable performances, including his captivating Junior Recital at UST in 2016 and his audition concert for the 1st Hong Kong Conducting Workshop in 2017.

From humble beginnings, Jedrick's musical prowess blossomed at a young age. Starting with in-home piano lessons at age 11, he soon delved into trumpet training at his provincial band, Banda Matanda 1888, at age 12. During high school, Jedrick honed his musical talents further by becoming the lead guitarist of his school band. His skills were showcased when he emerged champion in the 2011 Cavite Instrumental Playing Competition with a standout performance on the electric guitar.

Transitioning to college, Jedrick's passion for music led him to the UST Conservatory of Music, where he initially pursued studies in saxophone before shifting to Bassoon major. His exceptional talents did not go unnoticed, as he earned scholarships and secured roles in prestigious ensembles such as the UST Wind Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra.

Jedrick's musical journey has taken him beyond the borders of the Philippines, as evidenced by his participation in the Southeast Asian Youth Chamber Orchestra in 2013, performing across Thailand and Vietnam.

Jedrick Itugot has also shared his musical expertise on television, appearing as a guest bassoon lecturer on the show "This Is My Story, This Is My Song with Jungee Marcelo." Additionally, he has showcased his conducting skills by leading the Metropolitan Wind Ensemble on the popular ABS-CBN’s TV program "Matanglawin." These televised appearances have further highlighted his versatile talents and dedication to music education and performance.

Not content with simply performing, Jedrick has also made significant contributions as an arranger and orchestrator. His arrangements have been showcased by renowned orchestras such as the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, with notable performances at outreach concerts, benefit concerts, and series concerts.

Throughout his career, Jedrick has conducted numerous concerts with esteemed ensembles such as the UST Symphony Orchestra, UST Wind Orchestra, and UST Woodwind Ensemble. Notable projects include "Tribute to Tchaikovsky" and "Seasons of Love," which earned recognition from the UST Conservatory of Music as the Most Outstanding Departmental Activity. His dedication and talent led to him being awarded as the Most Outstanding Student of the Woodwind Department, thanks to his exceptional contributions to the UST Woodwind Ensemble.

In 2018, he took part in the inaugural Hong Kong International Conducting Workshop with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, benefiting from the mentorship of esteemed conductors including Maestro Jorma Panula, Maestro Christoph Poppen, and Maestra Yip Wing-See.

In addition to his conducting prowess, Jedrick has showcased his musical talents as a bassoonist in professional orchestras such as the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and the Manila Symphony Orchestra. He has also lent his expertise as a guest musician to various school orchestras, further enriching the musical community.

In 2020, Jedrick ventured into a new realm by founding Symph Studios, initially focusing on music production before expanding into film production. Alongside his endeavors in music, Jedrick has taken on the role of an indie film director at his studio. Through Symph Studios, Jedrick aims to promote local music and films, while also showcasing the exceptional artistry of Filipino talents to the world.
