Matthew Korloch is an aspiring young percussionist and educator in the Tampa Bay Area. He is currently seeking dual-degrees in percussion and drumset performance at the University of South Florida, with an expected graduation in the Spring of 2025.
With a diverse performance background, ranging from rock-n-roll to orchestral percussion, Matthew has established himself as a premier call player for all genres in Tampa and the surrounding area. He has performed with the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, the Miami Music Festival Symphony Orchestra, the National Music Festival Orchestra, and has performed alongside numerous Grammy-Nominated jazz artists, such as Chuck Owen, Jack Wilkins, and Danny Gottlieb. At USF, Matthew has been the drummer in their Jazz Ensemble I and has been the Principal Percussionist and Timpanist of their Symphony Orchestra since 2023.
Matthew also has thorough training in music theory pedagogy and aural skills pedagogy, having completed extensive course work in these topics while attending the University of South Florida. Additionally, he has a diverse background as a multi-instrumentalist, with years of private lessons on piano, and experience as a bassist and guitarist.
