VOICE, PIANO

Shane Patterson

Shane first got into music at age 11, playing tuba, trumpet, and percussion for his middle school band. Moving into high school he picked up choir, marching band, jazz, and musical theatre. He competed in FMEA solo & ensemble and was selected for all state. He competed with North Port High School's indoor drumline, placing first in the state. It was around this time that Shane shifted his focus from instrumental to vocal.

Shane went on to attend the State College of Florida in Bradenton. He sang for various church choirs around the state, created and led a successful barbershop quartet, acted as a leader in both his choir and musical theatre department, and frequently performed in gigs around the Sarasota area. This past year Shane competed at his regional NATS vocal competition, placing in the finals in the junior year musical theatre category. He`s continued playing tuba throughout this time, as well as sang in a metal cover band.

Shane is going on to further pursue his education at the University of Tampa, working towards a BFA in musical theatre. He looks forward to branching out further and involving himself in whatever music-based endeavors he can.
