Nick Deluca

Nick listened to his dad's record collection and started his own at a early age. By 11, he purchased his own first guitar from a ad in the classifieds in the newspaper.  Throughout middle school he was in guitar classes, clubs, talent shows, performing 4 nights a week at a church, and a teachers aide, replacing strings and nuts daily. In high school, Nick was introduced to the music of Charlie Parker and the likes through his director performing transcriptions on tenor sax at the start of each class. He then joined the rhythm section of swing band. Before college he was offered a Sony deal for the original music he was creating with pals whom he gigged with regularly around Miami.

Once in Miami Dade College, the stars aligned and Nick began a two year study with eight- and six-string guitarist Tom Lippincott. Shortly into the degree, Nick started his first teaching job with Kendall Conservatory of Music. Since then, he has played sessions, gigs, tours, and equipped countless students of varying interest (Miami, NYC, St Pete, privately, and zoom..) with the tools necessary for musical sharing, expression, and exploration.  As of recent, Nick has attended SIM Brooklyn- led by Ralph Alessi, rebuilt a vintage drum set, started playing alto sax, keyboards, and fretless bass.
